Successful homeschooling programs can be designed and delivered in many different ways depending on the student’s age, academic performance, emotional and adaptive functioning, passions, interests, and location

Section 1002.01, Florida Statutes (F.S.), defines home education as the sequentially progressive instruction of a student directed by his or her parent in order to satisfy Florida's compulsory education requirements.

STEPS 

  • Become familiar with state homeschooling laws as required by Section 1002.41, F.S., a parent must:

    • Send a written notice of intent to the school district

    • Maintain a portfolio 

    • Provide an annual educational evaluation 

    • Preserve each student’s portfolio for two years.

    • Submit a letter of termination accordingly

  • Identify your child’s learning preference, your teaching style, and your educational approach.

  • Determine who will be part of the homeschool process 

  • Determine the funding sources available 

  • Create your unique program and schedule.

  • Home school set up/maintenance

  • Portfolio Development/Maintenance

  • Conduct Annual Evaluations
